Atlac® 590Z is a corrosion-resistant phenolic epoxy vinyl ester resin with excellent corrosion resistance to high temperature, acid, chlorine, solvent and other strong oxidizing media, and high strength retention at high temperatures.
Application:
Atlac® 590Z is a phenolic modified vinyl resin styrene solution with moderate reactivity and low viscosity. Therefore, it is suitable for most production processes, especially for winding, centrifugal casting, hand paste and spray processes. It can also be used to prepare glass flake coatings and mortar.
Storage Method:
Atlac® 590Z epoxy is suitable for dark, dry storage at temperatures between 5℃ and 30℃. Excessive storage temperature will shorten and may lead to deterioration of resin properties. The storage life of vinyl ester resins containing styrene is dramatically shortened if exposed to light. Therefore, it needs to be stored in a dark and 100% dark container. Direct sunlight should be avoided.
Process Operating Guide:
A. Atlac® 590Z resin is non-sticky on the normally cured surface. To ensure that the surface in contact with the air is not sticky, appropriate additives (such as wax) can be added to the resin. The final curing state of the product can be cured at high temperature for several hours (120 ~ 150℃) to achieve the optimal physical and chemical properties.
B. Post curing is highly recommended for Atlac® 590Z products intended for chemical resistance. Cyclohexanone peroxide or CuH/ cobalt solution curing system is recommended. When construction is under 15℃, it is recommended to add a styrene solution of 0.1~0.5% 10%DMA (dimethylaniline) as required to improve the curing efficiency.
C. Atlac® 590Z resin should be stored in a suitable temperature-humidity environment for a constant period of time before use. The operating temperature of Atlac® 590Z resin should be above 15℃ when using MEKP/Co curing system.
