SKYSIL SW-350 SIO2 POWDER FOR WATER BASED COATING

SW-350 precipitated silica matting agent is designed for modern water-based coating systems. Through unique surface chemical modification

technology, it achieves perfect adaptation with water-based resin systems while maintaining high matting efficiency. After organic modification,

the abundant silanol groups on its surface form a hydrophilic-hydrophobic dual structure, which effectively solves the industry pain points of

uneven dispersion and easy agglomeration of traditional matting agents in water-based systems.

In terms of chemical properties, the pH value of SW-350 is strictly controlled in the range of 6.5-7.5, which is highly compatible with the alkaline

environment of most water-based resins. The Zeta potential of its surface after modification is above -35mV, and it can form a lasting steric

hindrance effect in the coating system through the electrostatic stabilization mechanism, and there will be no sedimentation and stratification even

if it is stored for a long time. It has been verified by experiments that adding 2-5% of SW-350 can stably reduce the 60° gloss to 3-5GU, and the

matting uniformity is improved by more than 40% compared with similar products.

The specially designed nano-scale pore structure (average pore size 15-25nm) of this product can directionally absorb free water in the resin and

accelerate the directional escape of water molecules during the curing process of the coating, thereby forming a fine micro-rough surface structure.

This feature not only improves the matting effect, but also improves the scratch resistance of the coating at the same time. In the actual application

of water-based wood paint, the combination of quick-drying resin can shorten the surface drying time to less than 15 minutes without affecting the

transparency of the final coating. Compared with traditional wax-based matting agents, SW-350 does not contain organic volatiles and fully complies

with the requirements of EU REACH regulations. Its unique surface chemical properties enable the coating to exhibit excellent anti-sagging properties

during construction, which is particularly suitable for mechanized spraying processes. It has achieved breakthrough application results in the fields of

automotive repair paints, industrial anti-corrosion coatings, etc.
