polypropylene rods engineering
Characteristics
Physical performance
Low density (about 0.9-0.91 g/cm ³), light weight, easy to handle and install.
The surface hardness is moderate, and the wear resistance is better than ordinary plastics, but lower than metals.
High dimensional stability, less affected by temperature changes (thermal deformation temperature of about 120-140 ℃).
Chemical properties
Strong chemical corrosion resistance, acid and alkali resistance (stable within pH 1-14), and resistance to organic solvents (such as alcohols and esters), but strong oxidants (such as concentrated sulfuric acid and concentrated nitric acid) may degrade.
Not absorbent, there is no significant change in performance when immersed in water for a long time.
Mechanical performance
Tensile strength: ≥ 30 MPa (can be increased to over 50 MPa depending on the formula reinforcement modification).
High bending strength and modulus, suitable for withstanding static loads.
Good toughness, strong impact resistance, and not easily brittle at low temperatures (brittle temperature of about -20 ℃).
Processing performance
Easy to process and shape (extrusion, cutting, drilling, welding, etc.), customizable for complex shapes.
Low melting point (about 160-170 ℃), wide processing temperature range, and low energy consumption.
Electrical performance
Excellent electrical insulation properties (surface resistivity>1 × 10 ¹⁵ Ω), suitable for the field of electronics and electrical engineering.
Environmental friendliness
Recyclable and in compliance with environmental protection requirements; During combustion, non-toxic gases are released (attention should be paid to flame retardant modification).

pp rod for industrial use
Precautions
- Weather resistance: Long term exposure to ultraviolet light can cause aging, and anti UV additives need to be added or used in indoor environments.
- Strength limitation: Not suitable for high stress or dynamic impact loads (glass fiber reinforced PP can be selected).
- Flame retardancy: Standard PP rods are flammable and require flame retardant modification before they can be used in fire-resistant scenarios
