PSU is commonly used as an alternative to polycarbonate or acrylic in high-temperature applications. PSU is not affected by exposure to hot water and steam, making it ideal for autoclavable instruments & trays, microwave dishes, and chemical handling components. It offers higher heat resistance and better hydrolytic stability than polycarbonate. It retains its good mechanical properties when exposed to steam and other sterilization techniques.
