Anti-static UPE Rods for Industrial Use
ESD UPE rod is a high-performance engineering plastic rod based on ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE), which is modified through special processes to give it electrostatic discharge (ESD) function. This material is based on an ultra long chain structure with a molecular weight exceeding 1.5 million g/mol, combined with anti-static additives, and has wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and conductivity. It is suitable for industrial environments that are sensitive to static electricity.
The key features of this ESD UPE rod is its ability to resist static buildup without compromising its structural integrity. Unlike standard UHMWPE materials, which may accumulate static charge, the ESD-resistant version incorporates conductive additives that allow for the safe dissipation of electrical energy. This makes it particularly suitable for applications in cleanrooms, semiconductor manufacturing, and other high-tech industries where even minor static discharges can lead to significant issues.

Characteristics
Static dissipation performance
Surface resistivity: 10 ⁶~10 ⁹ Ω (compliant with ANSI/ESD S20.20 standard), effectively preventing static electricity accumulation and discharge risks.
Static decay time:<2 seconds (ASTM D257 test), quickly dissipate static charges, suitable for clean rooms, electronic component manufacturing, and other scenarios.
Mechanical performance
Extremely high wear resistance: The friction coefficient is as low as 0.05~0.1 (1/4 of steel), and there is no significant wear after long-term use.
Impact strength: notch impact strength ≥ 180 kJ/m ² (ASTM D256), resistant to impact fracture.
Self lubrication: No need for additional lubricants, low operating resistance, and reduced energy consumption.
Chemical stability
Resistant to strong acids, strong bases, and organic solvents (such as concentrated sulfuric acid, acetone, etc.), with a pH tolerance range of 1-14.
Not absorbing water, not expanding, excellent dimensional stability (linear expansion coefficient is only 1/10 of metal).
Processing performance
It can be formed through CNC precision machining, turning, drilling and other processes, with a surface finish of Ra 0.8 μ m.
The hot deformation temperature is ≥ 120 ℃ (under 1.82 MPa), and the short-term temperature resistance can reach 150 ℃.
The high-density nature of the ESD UPE rod contributes to its durability and resistance to wear and tear. This material is known for its excellent impact strength, low friction coefficient, and resistance to chemicals and moisture.
The ESD UPE rod is widely used in environments where static control is critical. In electronics manufacturing, it helps prevent electrostatic discharge that could damage circuits and components. In industrial settings, it reduces the risk of static-related accidents and improves overall operational safety. Its use in pharmaceutical and medical equipment also ensures that static does not interfere with sensitive instruments or sterile conditions.
