Primarily used for drinking water purification, papermaking sizing, and industrial water treatment, Polyaluminum Chloride (PAC - drinking water grade) is an inorganic polymer coagulant. It is produced by spray drying a reaction product of aluminum hydroxide powder and high-purity hydrochloric acid, resulting in a white powder. This material offers the benefits of low corrosivity, high solubility, and stable operation within pH 5.0 to 9.0. Economically, it significantly undercuts traditional aluminum sulfate, reducing water purification costs by 15% to 30%. For paper manufacturers, PAC acts as a direct replacement for aluminum sulfate in neutral sizing. Its combined use with rosin agents yields superior paper whiteness and increased folding resistance, alongside lowering operational costs. The flocs produced also demonstrate a fast settling velocity.
