Detailed description of f4 sheet

Chemical name: Polytetrafluoroethylene

Morphological structure: A white, odorless, and non-toxic crystalline polymer material made from pure PTFE resin through molding, sintering, and mechanical processing. Its molecular structure consists of linear carbon chains completely enveloped by fluorine atoms (C ₂ F ₄) ₙ.

Board type:

Pure PTFE board: a base board that has not been filled or modified.

Filling modified PTFE plate: adding glass fiber, graphite, carbon fiber, bronze powder, etc. (filling rate of 5%~40%) to enhance mechanical or thermal conductivity.

Expanded PTFE sheet (ePTFE): formed into a microporous structure through stretching process, possessing both flexibility and breathability.

Physical property

Density: 2.1~2.3 g/cm ³ (pure PTFE); The filling type is slightly higher (such as about 2.4 g/cm ³ filled with 25% glass fiber).

Hardness: Shore D 50~65 (ASTM D2240).

Color: white/gray (filling type may appear brown or black).

Thermal performance

Continuous use temperature: -200 ℃ to+260 ℃ (short-term up to 300 ℃).

Thermal conductivity: 0.25 W/(m · K) (pure PTFE); After filling with graphite, it can be increased to 1.5 W/(m · K).

Linear expansion coefficient: 12~15 × 10 ⁻⁵/℃ (23~100 ℃).

Mechanical properties

Tensile strength: 14-35 MPa (pure PTFE); The filling type can reach 30-50 MPa.

Tensile elongation at break: 200%~400% (pure PTFE); The filling type is reduced to 50%~150%.

Compressive strength: ≥ 12 MPa (10% deformation, ASTM D695）。

Chemical

Corrosion resistance: It can resist all acids, bases, and organic solvents (such as concentrated sulfuric acid and aqua regia) except for molten alkali metals and fluorinated media.

Swelling property: Almost no water absorption (water absorption rate<0.01%).

Electrical performance

Dielectric constant: 2.1 (1 MHz); Volume resistivity>10 ¹⁸Ω· cm.

Arc resistance:>300 seconds (ASTM D495).

Friction performance

Friction coefficient: 0.05~0.10 (static friction, steel to PTFE).

Wear resistance: Pure PTFE is poor, but it can be increased by 10 times when filled with MoS ₂ or carbon fiber.
