Since its industrial production in the 1960s, UHMWPE sheet has been widely used in mining machinery, food processing, medical equipment, aerospace and other fields with its "all-round" performance (wear resistance, impact resistance, chemical corrosion resistance, self-lubrication, etc.), becoming an indispensable key material in modern industry.
Mechanical properties
High wear resistance: The friction coefficient is extremely low (0.05~0.11), the wear resistance is 7~10 times that of steel, and 5~7 times that of ordinary polyethylene, suitable for high friction environments.
High impact resistance: The impact strength is 2 times that of polycarbonate and 5 times that of ABS, and it still maintains excellent toughness at low temperatures (-40℃), without the risk of brittle fracture.
Self-lubricating: Low-friction operation can be achieved without external lubricants, and the surface smoothness can reach Ra 0.8~1.6μm.
Tensile strength and modulus: The tensile strength is usually 20~40 MPa, and the elastic modulus is low (about 800~1200 MPa), which is suitable for scenes requiring buffering or flexibility.
Chemical properties
Corrosion resistance: Resistant to most acids, alkalis, salts and organic solvents (such as concentrated hydrochloric acid, phosphoric acid, sodium hydroxide, etc.), but not resistant to strong oxidizing acids (such as concentrated sulfuric acid and nitric acid).
Weather resistance: Long-term exposure to ultraviolet rays is prone to oxidative degradation, and anti-UV agents or coatings need to be added for protection.
Physical properties
Density: About 0.93~0.94 g/cm³, only 1/8 of steel and 1/3 of aluminum, significantly reducing the structural load.
High/low temperature resistance: The operating temperature range is -269℃ (liquid helium environment) to +80℃ (long-term use), and can withstand 100℃ in a short period of time.
Insulation: Dielectric constant 2.3~2.4, volume resistivity >10¹⁵ Ω·cm, suitable for low-frequency insulation scenarios.
Hygiene and environmental protection
Non-toxic and odorless: Meets food and medical grade certifications such as FDA and USP Class VI, and can directly contact food and medicine.
Easy to clean: The surface is smooth, not easy to absorb pollutants, and supports high-temperature steam sterilization (121℃)
Product Advantages
- Extremely long service life: The wear resistance is far superior to that of metals and ordinary plastics, and the replacement frequency can be reduced by more than 50% in mining, metallurgy and other fields.
- Lightweight design: The density is only 1/8 of that of steel, which significantly reduces the weight of the equipment and saves energy (such as the conveyor belt system can reduce the motor load).
- Maintenance-free operation: Self-lubrication reduces dependence on the lubrication system and reduces maintenance costs (such as food machinery guide rails do not need regular oiling).
- Environmental adaptability: Excellent low temperature resistance, suitable for extremely cold areas (such as Arctic scientific research equipment); corrosion resistance is suitable for harsh environments such as chemical industry and ocean.

Scope of application
UHMWPE sheets are widely used in industrial and civil fields that require high wear resistance, corrosion resistance, low friction or lightweight, and are particularly suitable for the following scenarios:
High wear environment: such as mine conveyor belt linings, crusher linings, and mineral processing equipment guide rails.
High corrosion environment: chemical storage tank linings, acid and alkali conveying pipeline coatings.
Low friction moving parts: food machinery conveyor belt guides, textile machinery guide rollers, medical equipment sliders.
Low temperature or high safety demand scenarios: ski bases, ship deck anti-slip pads, bulletproof armor linings.
