Sorbitan trioleate is a nonionic surfactant widely used in oil-in-water (O/W) emulsion systems in the cosmetics and personal care fields. This amber liquid has excellent emulsifying properties and is packaged in 20kg/barrel. General properties

It has an amber liquid appearance, low irritation, and good compatibility with various oils. The recommended addition amount is 1%-5%, which can help maintain the stability of the emulsion in acid, alkali and electrolyte environments, forming a system with a long-lasting, uniform and smooth texture. From a chemical perspective

In the molecular structure, the sorbitol skeleton connects three oleic acid chains, giving it a strong lipophilicity (low HLB value). When compounded with high HLB emulsifiers such as polysorbate 80, it can form a complementary amphiphilic balance - the lipophilic end anchors the oil phase and cooperates with the hydrophilic end of the high HLB component to build a more stable emulsion film at the oil-water interface to prevent droplet aggregation.

Use in cosmetics

In actual formulas, it is often used with high HLB emulsifiers for products such as creams, lotions, and conditioners: enhance the tolerance of the emulsion to acids, alkalis, and electrolytes, and extend the storage stability period; give the product a smooth skin feel and enhance the use experience; adapt to a variety of emulsion systems such as moisturizers and protective creams, and because of its low irritation, it is suitable for all skin types.
