Mechanical properties

After secondary hot extrusion and heat treatment, the high-temperature tensile strength of AQ80M magnesium alloy plate is ≥250MPa, yield strength is ≥190MPa, and elongation rate is ≥25%.

Processing technology

The secondary hot extrusion process is commonly used, which involves first peeling the billet and then performing a two-stage homogenization treatment. The billet is then heated to 340-420°C, held for 1-3 hours, and subjected to primary hot extrusion deformation at an extrusion ratio of 2-9 and an extrusion speed of 1.5-6mm/s to obtain a rod material. The rod material is then heated to 340-380°C, held for 1-3 hours, and subjected to secondary hot extrusion deformation at an extrusion ratio of 5-8 and an extrusion speed of 4-12mm/s to obtain a plate material, followed by heat treatment.

Application fields

Due to its low density and high strength, it is widely used in the aerospace field for manufacturing aircraft frames, engine components, etc.; in the automotive industry, it can be used to produce fenders, door panels, and other components to achieve lightweighting purposes and improve fuel efficiency; it can also be applied in fields such as electronic communications, utilizing its good thermal conductivity and electromagnetic shielding properties.
