PP C+H grey board (co-polypropylene reinforced grey board) is a high-performance thermoplastic sheet based on co-polypropylene (PP C+H) resin, modified with glass fiber (GF) or other reinforcing fillers such as calcium carbonate and talc. "C+H" represents a blend of random copolymer and block copolymer in co-polypropylene, resulting in high impact resistance and excellent processing fluidity. Greyboard has a uniform gray surface with a low gloss (20-30 GU). Thickness typically ranges from 1mm to 150mm, and widths range from 1000mm to 1500mm. Custom lengths are available. Based on the reinforcement ratio, it can be categorized into low-reinforcement (glass fiber content 10%-15%), medium-reinforcement (15%-25%), and high-reinforcement (25%-40%) types. It is widely used in automotive parts, appliance housings, chemical storage tanks, and industrial equipment components.
Product Advantages
Balanced Rigidity and Toughness
PP C+H grey board, reinforced with glass fiber, achieves a synergistic combination of high strength and high impact resistance, making it an ideal material for automotive parts and home appliance housings. For example, in the design of automotive bumper brackets, PP C+H grey board's high rigidity resists vibration stress during driving (reducing the risk of component fatigue cracking), while its high impact resistance prevents brittle cracking during low-temperature collisions. In the manufacture of home appliance housings, its balanced rigidity and toughness ensures drop resistance during transportation while avoiding assembly stress cracking caused by excessive rigidity.
Synergistic High-Temperature Resistance and Dimensional Stability
PP C+H grey board's heat deflection temperature (110-130°C) and low thermal expansion coefficient (8-10×10⁻⁵/°C) make it outstandingly suitable for high-temperature environments and precision equipment. For example, in the manufacture of agitator blades for chemical reactors, PP C+H grey board's ability to withstand short-term temperatures of 140°C ensures the blades remain intact in high-temperature reaction media. In the processing of plastic casings for precision instruments, its low coefficient of thermal expansion prevents loosening or binding in temperature fluctuations.
Combination of Chemical and Hydrolysis Resistance
PP C+H grey board is stable to most acid, alkali, and salt solutions, as well as organic solvents, and exhibits excellent hydrolysis resistance, making it a preferred material for chemical storage tanks and outdoor plastic structures. For example, in the lining of chemical storage tanks storing 30% sodium hydroxide solution, PP C+H grey board's chemical resistance significantly extends the tank's life. In the manufacture of outdoor plastic water tanks, its hydrolysis and weather resistance ensure water quality safety.
Ease of Processing and High Dimensional Precision
PP C+H grey board can be processed through a variety of processes, including injection molding and extrusion, and has low molding shrinkage, making it suitable for the manufacture of high-precision components. For example, in the injection molding production of automotive interior parts, the low shrinkage rate of PP C+H grey board enables the dimensional tolerance of the instrument panel frame to be controlled within ±0.1mm; in the processing of plastic flanges for industrial equipment, the thickness tolerance of the extrusion process ensures the sealing of the flange connection; and in the thermoforming process of household appliance housings, the rapid molding cycle improves production efficiency.
