1. High-Temperature Resistance
Glass transition temperature (Tg) approximately 143°C, melting point (Tm) approximately 340°C, wide long-term operating temperature range (-50°C to 250°C), and short-term resistance to temperatures up to 310°C.
It maintains excellent mechanical properties even at high temperatures, far exceeding those of ordinary engineering plastics.
2. Excellent Mechanical Properties
Tensile strength: 107 MPa, reaching over 200 MPa with reinforcement (e.g., carbon fiber/glass fiber filling);
Elastic modulus: 3.6 GPa, close to that of metal but with a lower density;
Fatigue resistance: Superior to most plastics, resistant to fracture under cyclic loading;
Wear resistance: Excellent self-lubrication, with extremely low wear rate when rubbing against metal.
3. Chemical Resistance
Resistant to most organic solvents and weak acids/bases, soluble only in strong oxidizing acids such as concentrated sulfuric acid and nitric acid;
Stable performance in high-temperature and high-humidity environments, and resistant to hydrolysis.
4. Biocompatibility
Complies with ISO 10993 biosafety standards and is non-cytotoxic, non-sensitizing, and non-genotoxic.
The elastic modulus is close to that of human bone, making it less likely to cause "stress shielding" (bone degeneration caused by the high modulus of metal implants) after implantation.
5. Flame Retardancy and Radiation Resistance
It is inherently flame-retardant and achieves UL94 V-0 rating (0.25mm thickness) without the addition of flame retardants.
It is resistant to gamma rays and X-rays, ensuring stable performance in nuclear and medical radiotherapy equipment.
6. Processability (relative to specialty materials)
It can be formed by injection molding, extrusion, and machining, making it suitable for the manufacture of complex shaped components.
