PA6 Extruded Nylon Sheet Plastic Board Thick 30mm
Core Features
Outstanding Mechanical Properties
High Strength and Rigidity: Tensile strength can reach 60-90 MPa (depending on thickness and additives), with high flexural strength, capable of withstanding medium to high loads, making it suitable for structural support components (such as gears and brackets).
Good Toughness: Impact strength surpasses most general-purpose plastics (such as ABS and PVC), maintaining a certain degree of toughness even at low temperatures (this can be further improved through toughening modification, e.g., impact strength retention >80% at -20°C).
Excellent Wear Resistance: Moderate surface hardness (Rockwell hardness R100-115), low coefficient of friction (approximately 0.15-0.3), and excellent self-lubrication ensure long-term wear resistance, making it suitable for dynamic contact components (such as guide rails and bearing bushings).
Flexible Processing
Easy Forming: Extrusion allows for the production of pa6 sheets with wide widths (e.g., 1000-2000mm) and adjustable thickness (1-100mm is common). It supports secondary processing such as cutting, drilling, bending, and welding, adapting to customized needs.
Wide Compatibility: It can be riveted, bolted, or glued to metals (e.g., steel and aluminum). It can also be combined with other plastics (e.g., PC and POM) to expand its functional applications.
Chemical Resistance and Environmental Adaptability
Chemical Corrosion Resistance: PA6 Sheet exhibits good resistance to weak acids (e.g., dilute sulfuric acid and acetic acid), weak bases (e.g., dilute sodium hydroxide solution), saline solutions (e.g., sodium chloride), and common organic solvents (e.g., ethanol and gasoline). However, long-term exposure to strong acids (e.g., concentrated sulfuric acid), strong oxidizers (e.g., concentrated nitric acid), or aromatic hydrocarbons (e.g., benzene) may cause swelling or degradation. Moderate Weather Resistance: Long-term exposure to UV rays (outdoor environments) can cause molecular chain breakage, resulting in yellowing and embrittlement (this can be improved by adding UV inhibitors. Surface coating or regular maintenance is recommended for outdoor use).
Temperature Resistance Range:
Long-term operating temperature: -40°C to 80°C (conventional unfilled PA6);
Short-term peak withstand temperature: Up to 120°C (e.g., short-term thermal exposure);
Low-temperature performance: Toughness decreases below -20°C (toughening modification can extend this to -40°C).
Electrical Properties
Excellent electrical insulation: Volume resistivity > 10¹⁴ Ω·cm, high dielectric strength (approximately 20-30 kV/mm), suitable for insulating components in low-voltage electrical equipment (such as switch housings and junction boxes).
Typical Applications
Mechanical Manufacturing
Replacing metals (such as cast iron and aluminum alloys) in the manufacture of gears, bearings, bushings, and sliders, reducing weight by over 50%, lowering energy consumption, and minimizing lubrication requirements (due to its self-lubricating properties).
Used as equipment protective plates, support brackets, and structural connectors, it offers wear resistance and ease of processing.
Automotive Industry
Engine peripheral components (such as cooling fan blades and intake manifold heat shields) and interior component frames (such as instrument panel support brackets) require high-temperature resistance (80-120°C) and lightweight design.
Insulating separators and wiring harness mounting brackets for new energy vehicle battery packs require both electrical insulation and mechanical strength.
Electrical and Electronics
Low-voltage electrical appliance housings (such as switch boxes and socket panels), insulating gaskets, and terminal mounting brackets rely on its electrical insulation and dimensional stability.
Modified flame-retardant PA6 sheet is used in charging station housings and control cabinet panels to meet fire safety requirements.
Chemical and Food Industries
Corrosion-resistant linings for chemical equipment and pipe gaskets (weak acid/alkali resistant) require pure PA6 or those with corrosion-resistant fillers.
Conveyor belts, guide rails, and containers for food processing equipment (must comply with FDA or EU food-grade certification, such as pure PA6 without additives).
Construction and Civil Engineering
Dust-proof guide rails, door and window pulley linings (wear-resistant and quiet), and support structures for advertising display stands (lightweight and easy to process).
