Food Grade Blue HDPE Sheets 25mm Thickness
Core Performance Parameters and Advantages
Basic Physical Properties
Density: 0.94-0.97 g/cm³ (lighter than water, about 1/8 that of steel)
Color: Uniform blue (commonly industrial blue and marine blue, but custom colors are available)
The blue color is typically achieved by adding a stabilized pigment, which provides both marking and partial UV protection.
Surface: Smooth and flat (extruded sheets have a slight texture, while molded sheets have a higher gloss).
The surface can be polished or roughened (e.g., textured for anti-slip requirements).
Mechanical Properties
Tensile Strength: 29 MPa (higher than LDPE (10-20 MPa), but lower than engineering plastics like nylon PA6 (50-70 MPa);
Elongation at Break: ≥180% (high, suitable for absorbing impact energy);
Flexural Strength: Approximately 40-50 MPa (suitable for withstanding moderate bending loads, such as pallets and shelf supports);
Compressive Strength: Approximately 15-25 MPa (suitable for low-pressure loads; high-pressure loads require thicker or composite structures);
Hardness : 62 (harder than LDPE, but softer than metal/engineering plastics).
high density polyethylene
Chemical Properties
Acid and Alkali Resistance: Unreactive to strong acids (concentrated sulfuric acid, concentrated nitric acid), strong bases (40% sodium hydroxide), and saline solutions (brine, seawater) at temperatures ranging from room temperature to 60°C.
Organic Solvent Resistance: Stable in non-polar organic solvents (such as gasoline, diesel, and lubricating oil) (may slightly swell after long-term immersion, but performance remains largely unchanged). However, it may slowly dissolve in polar solvents (such as acetone, benzene, and chloroform) at high temperatures (short-term exposure at room temperature is not a problem).
Other Media Resistance: Resistant to water (including boiling water), steam, oxidizing agents (such as hydrogen peroxide), and reducing agents (such as sodium sulfite).
Special Advantages: Blue HDPE sheet is irreplaceable for chemical storage tank linings, sewage treatment tank covers, and acid-base neutralization tank protective linings, capable of direct contact with corrosive liquids (such as acidic wastewater tanks in electroplating plants).
Thermal Properties
Melting Point: Approximately 135°C (Actual Processing Temperature: 180-240°C);
Continuous Use Temperature: -50°C to 90°C (Short-term resistance to 110°C, long-term use recommended: ≤60°C);
Low-Temperature Toughness: Remains flexible (will not crack) at -50°C (extremely cold), making it suitable for use in cold regions.
Friction and Wear Resistance
Coefficient of Friction: Approximately 0.2-0.3 when rubbing against steel (lower than the 0.5-0.8 of metal, but higher than the 0.04 of PTFE), with good self-lubrication.
Wear Resistance: Moderate (will experience some wear with long-term sliding friction, but better than LDPE and PP). This can be improved through surface hardening (such as coating) or compounding with other wear-resistant materials.
Electrical Properties
Insulation Resistance: Volume Resistivity > 1014 Ω·cm (close to an ideal insulator);
Dielectric Strength: ≥ 45 kV/mm (resistant to breakdown at a certain voltage, suitable for low-voltage insulation);
Dielectric Constant: 2.5 (stable, minimal signal transmission interference).

Typical Application Scenarios
Industrial and Chemical Industries
- Corrosion-Resistant Tank/Water Tank Liners: Used for storing acid, alkali, and salt solutions (e.g., electroplating tanks and sewage treatment tank linings). The blue color helps distinguish different functional areas (e.g., clean and contaminated areas).
- Equipment Protective Covers/Baffles: Protect mechanical equipment from chemical corrosion (e.g., in acid and alkali spray environments). The blue color facilitates identification or warnings.
- Pipe/Valve Covers: Wrap around pipe connections or valves to prevent chemical leakage and corrosion of surrounding structures.
Water Treatment and Environmental Protection Industries
- Wastewater Treatment Equipment Components: Grilles and filter tank covers (the blue color conceals internal structures and resists sewage corrosion).
- Rainwater Collection Systems: Storage tanks and guide plates (resistant to acid and alkali components in rainwater, and the blue color offers an attractive appearance).
Food and Pharmaceutical Applications
- Food processing equipment linings: such as baking mold support plates and conveyor belt pallets for beverage filling lines (food-grade HDPE must be FDA/NSF compliant).
- Pharmaceutical packaging accessories: medicine storage racks and laboratory utensil pads (non-toxic and easy to clean).
Construction and Civilian Applications
- Outdoor deck/walkway decking: Anti-slip walkways in parks and piers (blue anti-slip plate with textured surface for improved safety and aesthetics).
- Building formwork support: Temporary structural support panels (lightweight and corrosion-resistant, replacing wooden formwork).
- Decorative panels: Interior partitions and wall decorations (blue provides a soft visual effect, is stain-resistant, and is easy to clean).
Customized Applications
- Warnings and signs: Industrial workshop floor partitions (blue indicates "safe passage" or "equipment area") and stair anti-slip strips (with a roughened surface).
- Shading and privacy protection: Greenhouse sunshades (blue filters some light to regulate plant lighting), shower screens (privacy and waterproof).
- Wear-resistant sports equipment: Gym flooring, ski bindings (low friction and cold-resistant).
