The Teramont X is a new car and Volkswagen's representative of the "large five-seater" mid-to-large coupe SUV segment. The 2025 model measures 4917×1989×1729 mm with a wheelbase of 2980 mm. Its sloping roofline begins to descend from the C-pillar, resulting in a drag coefficient of 0.32. The front features a honeycomb grille integrated with a continuous light strip, while the rear boasts a small ducktail spoiler and illuminated lettering, giving it a more dynamic look than the older used Teramont and a length half a meter shorter than the commercial vehicle Multivan, making it easier to enter and exit underground parking garages.

The space is more organized than other new energy SUVs in the same price range, and the battery doesn't encroach on the floor.

The main powertrain is the third-generation EA888 2.0T high-power engine, producing 162 kW/350 N·m, paired with a DQ501 seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission and 4Motion all-wheel drive. It achieves 0-100 km/h in 8.4 seconds and a WLTC fuel consumption of 8.65 L/100 km, requiring only 95-octane gasoline. The chassis features a MacPherson strut front suspension and a multi-link rear suspension, with optional DCC adaptive suspension offering two levels of adjustment for comfort and support. The steering feel is on the heavier side, providing stability at high speeds up to 120 km/h. The IQ.Drive intelligent driving system comes standard with ACC, lane keeping assist, and active braking, making city driving and highway cruising worry-free.

Compared to older used cars, the new model features a passenger-side entertainment screen and L2 driving assistance; compared to new energy vehicles, it eliminates the hassle of charging stations; compared to commercial MPVs, it retains coupe lines and all-wheel drive, making it suitable for city commuting, long-distance road trips, and light off-road driving.
