Its granular form and balanced rheology make it easy to handle in standard hot melt tanks and application equipment.
With a softening point of 102±5°C (tested per GB/T-15332), a viscosity of 1300±400 cps at 180°C / 2400±500 cps at 160°C (HG/T-3660), and a hardness of 70±5A (GB/T 531), 8078 flows smoothly through nozzles and achieves rapid bond development. The moderate softening point means lower application temperatures than many competitors, reducing energy costs and the risk of substrate heat damage on sensitive printed and laminated surfaces.
Most standard carton sealing hot melts perform adequately on untreated kraft corrugated board. The real challenge begins when the substrate changes. Modern packaging increasingly uses coated, printed, and laminated board stock that resists adhesive penetration. TONGDE 8078 is specifically formulated to address this challenge.

For standard corrugated boxes, strip spraying along the flap seams is most common. For coated and laminated cartons, slightly higher application pressure and longer compression time (1–2 seconds) improve wetting on smooth, non-porous surfaces.
8078 is supplied in 25 kg bags as standard. Store below 40°C in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight. Under proper conditions, the shelf life is 2 years from the date of manufacture. We recommend first-in-first-out inventory rotation to maintain optimal performance.
