CNC Machining Process Flow for Valve Bodies / Manifold Blocks:
  • Raw Material Preparation: Common materials 6061-T6 / 7075/304 / 316L / 17-4PH. And through these ways to control raw material quality: Material Certificate (MTC),Furnace Number / Batch Identification,Preliminary inspection of appearance and dimensions.
  • Process Planning & Datum Definition: Analyze Functional holes (spool holes, main channels)/sealing surface/Threaded interface in the drawings. And confirm Primary datum plane/Key hole system datum.Formulate the processing sequence, clamping scheme and inspection point setup for precision components.
  • Rough Machining: CNC milling of external contours, mounting surfaces, and step structures; The machining objective is to establish a stable datum, remove most of the stock, and leave sufficient allowance for finish machining. And finally Leave sufficient finishing allowance.
  • Multi-Face Machining & Flow Channel Drilling:Process Content included multi-directional drilling (runner holes, cross holes), side hole and interface hole machining by 4/5 axis cnc machining.
  • Precision Boring – Critical Operation: Boring objects are Spool hole,Main functional hole. Control points included aperture size,Roundness,Coaxiality. We will use Precision boring tool and stable cutting parameters.
  • Thread Machining: Tapping,Thread milling (high requirements). Thread type inlcuded metric / Imperial and Pipe thread / Interface thread.Key control points included thread depth,thread coaxiality,sealing reliability.
  • Finish Machining: Precision machining of the sealing groove, Chamfering (removing sharp corners),Filleting the runner inlet (reducing turbulence),Deburring (manual / automatic).

All valve body components undergo rigorous quality inspection and control throughout the manufacturing process. Starting from raw material incoming inspection, material verification and batch traceability are implemented. During machining, in-process monitoring and first article inspection are conducted for critical dimensions, hole position accuracy, and coaxiality. At the finished product stage, comprehensive testing of functional holes, sealing surfaces, and interface threads is performed using Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), thread gauges, and dedicated inspection tools. All inspection data is recorded and traceable by batch, ensuring that the products meet the quality requirements of high-reliability applications such as hydraulics, construction machinery, new energy, and aerospace in terms of dimensional accuracy, assembly compatibility, and fluid sealing reliability.
