Their magnetic circuit is situated within the coil assembly—typically formed by a ferrite or iron core—and features a well-engineered design that ensures low temperature rise and enables the maintenance of stable performance over extended periods.
 
Shell-type Transformers: In contrast to core-type transformers, the magnetic circuit of shell-type transformers is positioned external to the coil assembly, typically enclosed within an iron or aluminum casing. These transformers exhibit robust anti-interference capabilities and superior stability, performing exceptionally well in high-frequency and high-power applications. However, they tend to be relatively larger and heavier, thereby imposing higher demands on available installation space.
 
Wound-type Transformers: Constructed by winding coils directly onto a core, wound-type transformers feature a simple structure and lower manufacturing costs. Although they possess a longer magnetic path and relatively lower efficiency, they nonetheless retain significant practical value in applications where constraints on size and weight are not particularly stringent.
