A2FM170/61W Bent-axis Hydraulic Motor Full Product Introduction
(Incorporated keywords: hydraulic motor, hydraulic system)
1. Product Basic Overview
The A2FM170/61W is a 40° large-angle bent-axis fixed-displacement axial piston hydraulic motor of the 6th-generation upgraded structure from Bosch Rexroth. The number 61 denotes the upgraded structural series, while the suffix W stands for the standard flange-mounted version compatible with closed-circuit hydraulic circuits. With a fixed displacement of 170cc/rev, it functions as a heavy-duty high-speed high-torque core actuator. It can be integrated into complete open-loop or closed-loop hydraulic system, and assembled with main pumps, counterbalance valves and other Hydraulic valve groups to constitute a full hydrostatic transmission assembly, mainly applied in heavy-load driving conditions including travel, winch hoisting and slewing operations.

3. Structure & Working Principle
This hydraulic motor adopts the classic 40° bent-axis piston structure, consisting of a cylinder block, tapered piston assembly, spherical valve plate, output main shaft, roller bearings and high-pressure seal kits as core components.
High-pressure hydraulic oil from the hydraulic system enters the piston bores inside the cylinder block, pushing the obliquely arranged tapered pistons against the end face of the main shaft. The oblique component force drives continuous rotation of the main shaft, converting hydraulic energy from the hydraulic system into mechanical torque output. The spherical valve plate accurately distributes inlet and return oil to enable reversible forward and reverse rotation.
Compared with orbital hydraulic motors, it features high starting efficiency, stable high-speed operation and superior resistance to high-pressure shocks, with minor efficiency degradation under long-term full-load operation, making it ideal for heavy-duty continuous-duty hydraulic system.
4. Key Product Advantages
1. 40° large bent-angle design delivers extremely high torque density, producing higher output torque than conventional piston motors of the same displacement for heavy-load startup;
2. Upgraded piston seals and spherical valve plate in Series 61 reduce internal leakage under high pressure, maintaining stable pressure across the entire hydraulic system;
3. Capable of both high-speed running and heavy-torque hoisting & dragging for versatile application;
4. Can be externally fitted with Hydraulic valve such as counterbalance valves and relief valves to realize downhill braking and anti-rolling protection for loads;
5. Plug-in flange mounting allows direct embedding into reducer housings to save installation space, a preferred design for integrated engineering machinery.
5. Main Application Scenarios
1. Construction machinery: Travel hydraulic motor for crawler cranes, winch drive motor for rotary drilling rigs, reducer drive motor for cement mixer trucks;
2. Mining equipment: Drive for crusher feed rollers, travel power unit of underground roadheaders within complete hydraulic system;
3. Heavy marine equipment: Deck winches and anchor windlass hydraulic drives;
4. Metallurgical equipment: Heavy-duty roller table transmission and heavy-load conveying hydraulic circuits in steel plants.
6. Replacement Conditions for Common Faults
Overall replacement or overhaul of the A2FM170/61W motor assembly is required when the hydraulic system suffers insufficient motor output power, high-speed vibration, abnormal motor housing overheating, oil leakage at the main shaft oil seal, or metal copper/iron debris contaminating hydraulic oil (caused by worn pistons or valve plates), to restore full performance of the hydraulic transmission circuit.
