1. Product Overview
The anti-collision crane assembly is a safety protection integrated unit specially designed for gantry cranes, overhead traveling cranes, tower cranes and port container cranes. It is assembled into the crane’s whole control circuit and matched with the main hydraulic system and driving hydraulic motor to prevent collision between adjacent cranes, or collision between cranes and building barriers, stockpiles, piers and other obstacles during traveling, slewing or luffing actions. It integrates sensing modules, control processing units, hydraulic/electric executive parts and limit protection valves, realizing automatic deceleration, forced stop and alarm interlock.
2. Main Composition
1. Detection sensing part: infrared distance sensors, laser rangefinders, ultrasonic probes, limit switches, used to real-time collect spacing data between cranes or obstacles;
2. PLC/controller unit: analyzes distance signals, judges danger level and outputs control instructions;
3. Executive matching parts (link with hydraulic system): proportional throttle valves, electromagnetic cut-off valves and buffer hydraulic cylinders. It can cut off oil supply to the walking/slewing hydraulic motor or throttle hydraulic flow to slow down movement;
4. Auxiliary parts: warning horn, flashing warning light, emergency reset button, buffer rubber blocks/hydraulic buffers.
3. Working Principle
During crane operation, the sensor continuously detects the clearance between the crane and hazards.
- Safe distance: The assembly keeps standby status, the hydraulic system operates normally, and the hydraulic motor runs at set speed;
- Early warning distance: Trigger sound & light alarm, meanwhile the assembly sends signals to restrict the flow of the main hydraulic circuit, reduce rotating speed of the driving hydraulic motor to realize forced deceleration;
- Dangerous critical distance: Automatically cut off the main oil circuit of the hydraulic system, lock the walking or slewing mechanism, completely stop the crane movement to avoid hard collision;
After danger is eliminated, manual reset can resume normal hydraulic drive operation.

6. Failure Replacement Prompt
If the assembly fails to trigger deceleration/stop action, sensors lose signal, or hydraulic control valve inside fails to cut off oil for the hydraulic motor, the whole anti-collision crane assembly needs inspection or replacement to eliminate collision risks.
