Our phenolic cloth bakelite rod, also known as bakelite rod or electrical bakelite rod in the plastic industry, is a high-performance thermosetting composite material. It is meticulously manufactured by pressing phenolic molding powder (bakelite powder) with wood flour as the main filler, undergoing strict high-temperature and high-pressure molding processes. This sophisticated manufacturing method endows the rod with excellent insulation, corrosion resistance and machinability, making it a core material for a wide range of industrial and electrical applications across the globe.
In practical applications, this bakelite rod performs exceptionally well in harsh working environments, whether it is high-temperature operating conditions in electrical cabinets or mechanical wear in industrial production lines. It can maintain stable shape and performance without deformation or performance degradation even after long-term use. It is also highly compatible with various rubber process requirements, making it easy to match with rubber components in integrated equipment manufacturing. Moreover, it can be perfectly combined withsilicone machined parts and rubber machined parts to meet the precise assembly needs of complex equipment such as packaging machines and molding machines.
Our product covers a full range of specifications to meet the diverse needs of different industries, from small-diameter rods for precision ICT fixtures to large-diameter Industrial-grade Bakelite round rod for structural components of mechanical molds. We also provide professional customized processing services, tailoring rod specifications and performance parameters according to customers' specific application scenarios, such as PCB drilling pads and insulation sleeves. Whether you need High-temperature resistant electrical-grade Bakelite rod for electrical equipment or High-strength insulating Bakelite rod for mechanical transmission parts, we can provide targeted solutions to ensure each customer gets products that fit their actual production needs.
Rod Machining
Our phenolic cloth bakelite rod is renowned for its excellent machinability, which is one of its core advantages in industrial applications. The material has moderate hardness and toughness, making it easy to process using common machining equipment such as lathes, milling machines, drilling machines and grinding machines. During the rod machining process, the rod does not produce excessive dust, and the cutting surface is smooth and flat without burrs, reducing the need for secondary polishing.
We have a professional machining team and advanced equipment, capable of providing precision machining services for bakelite rods according to customers' drawings and requirements. Whether it is simple cutting, drilling, or complex shaping of gears, guide wheels, washers and guide rings, we can ensure high machining accuracy (tolerance ≤ ±0.05mm) to meet the precision requirements of ICT fixtures, mechanical molds and other equipment. In addition, the machined surface of the rod has good adhesion, which is convenient for subsequent bonding and assembly with silicone machined parts and rubber machined parts.
Rod Process
The production rod process of our phenolic cloth bakelite rod strictly follows international quality standards, ensuring the stability and reliability of each product. The whole process is divided into four core stages: raw material preparation, mixing and stirring, high-temperature and high-pressure molding, and post-processing. First, we select high-quality phenolic molding powder (bakelite powder) and wood flour filler, and screen them to remove impurities to ensure the purity of raw materials.
Then, the raw materials are mixed evenly in a professional mixer, and then put into a mold for high-temperature (150℃-180℃) and high-pressure (15-20 MPa) molding. This process ensures that the material is fully cured, and the internal structure is dense, thus improving the mechanical strength and insulation performance of the rod. After molding, the rod is subjected to post-processing such as cooling, demolding, cutting and polishing, and then undergoes strict quality testing (including insulation performance, hardness and size testing) before leaving the factory. Compared with other insulating materials, our rod process also optimizes the compatibility with rubber process, making the product more suitable for integrated equipment production.
