A silicone inflatable seal is a hollow, fabric-reinforced silicone profile that expands when filled with air and relaxes completely when the air is released. On automation equipment it works as a controllable seal: while deflated it stays clear of the mating surface, so sliding doors, lifting gates and moving covers run freely with no friction and no wear; once inflated, it closes wide, uneven or misaligned gaps with a uniform, adjustable sealing force.
The same component is often called a silicone inflatable gasket when it is mounted between two fixed faces. Either way, the principle is identical — seal only when you need it, release when you do not.
Temperature range: continuous service from -60 °C to +200 °C. Silicone stays flexible in cold environments and resists heat ageing in ovens, dryers and heat-cycled lines — a natural fit for automation equipment with hot processes.
Stability over cycles: low compression set and excellent ozone/weathering resistance keep the sealing profile consistent over millions of open-close cycles.
Clean and safe: low outgassing and low particle release; FDA-compliant compounds are available for food packaging and pharmaceutical filling machines.
Design freedom: hardness from 40 to 70 Shore A typical, custom wall thickness, color and section — the silicone inflatable gasket is built around your gap, not the other way around.
If the equipment runs with mineral oils, solvents or aggressive chemicals, ask about EPDM or FKM alternatives — the material is always matched to the actual duty.
Cross-section: round, oval, rectangular or custom to your drawing.
Reinforcement: polyester or nylon fabric layer for higher pressure and stable shape — typical working pressure 0.05–0.3 MPa, reinforced designs up to approx. 0.5 MPa.
Valve: M5 thread typical; position per drawing or sample.
Mounting: press-fit channel, adhesive back or bolted flange.
Length & joint: any custom length; endless (hot-spliced) rings available on request.
Color: red, black, white or per request.
