Product Description

BS6491‑X is a dedicated flexible single‑core protective‑earth wire manufactured to BS7211 British standard for UK construction market.

Distinct from ordinary single‑core building wires, this earth wire adopts a unique double‑layer construction. The fine‑stranded copper conductor is wrapped first by a layer of transparent XLPE inner insulation, Flexible Cable Wire,then an extruded green‑yellow bi‑colour PVC outer sheath is applied for mechanical protection and mandatory PE colour identification.

Class‑5 annealed bare copper conductor delivers outstanding flexibility, which makes on‑site bending and conduit routing much easier. The inner transparent XLPE insulation provides excellent dielectric property and thermal performance with 90 °C maximum continuous working temperature. The outer green‑yellow PVC sheath protects the XLPE core against abrasion, minor mechanical damage during installation.

This green‑yellow earthing wire is widely specified as protective PE earthing conductor for domestic housing, commercial offices and public building wiring systems in United Kingdom projects.
