Matte food-grade BOPP (Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene) film for printing is a specialized functional substrate designed for high-end flexible packaging. Through a special matte coating treatment or a co-extrusion matte process, the film’s surface acquires a refined, soft, and diffuse-reflective texture; this not only eliminates the glare associated with standard glossy films but also provides a premium visual and tactile experience for the packaged product.

Regarding printability, the film undergoes corona treatment to achieve excellent surface tension, making it perfectly compatible with various printing processes such as rotogravure, flexography, and digital printing. Its surface coating ensures superior ink adhesion, resulting in rich colors, distinct tonal gradation, and high-fidelity dot reproduction. Additionally, the film offers excellent scratch resistance, effectively preventing ink loss or surface marring during high-speed printing and subsequent lamination processes.

As a food-grade packaging material, the film strictly complies with major food safety standards, including China’s GB 4806 series, US FDA 21 CFR, and EU 10/2011. It is non-toxic, odorless, and chemically stable; it does not react with food oils or acidic substances, nor does it migrate harmful substances into the food. It is widely used for packaging confectionery, biscuits, nuts, coffee, tea, seasonings, and various snack foods.

In terms of physical properties, matte BOPP film offers excellent dimensional stability, high transparency (excluding the matte layer), and superior moisture barrier performance. It typically serves as the outer printable layer in composite flexible packaging, undergoing dry or solvent-free lamination with materials such as PE, CPP, aluminum foil (AL), or metallized PET (VMPET) to create a multi-layer structure that combines high barrier properties, high strength, and excellent heat-sealing capabilities. Furthermore, the film possesses good stiffness and processing adaptability, allowing it to run smoothly on high-speed automatic packaging machines and meet the rigorous efficiency and quality demands of modern food packaging production lines.
