Organic Northeast Glutinous Rice (900g) is made from organic glutinous rice grown in Northeast China. The grains are plump, naturally white, and after steaming or cooking, they are soft, sticky, and elastic with a refreshing aroma. This product is suitable for making zongzi (sticky rice dumplings), glutinous rice, shumai, rice balls, glutinous rice dumplings, rice cakes, eight-treasure rice, and various festive foods and desserts. It can also be paired with ingredients such as red beans, red dates, lotus seeds, nuts, meat, and mushrooms.
The 900g family pack is a moderate size, suitable for daily cooking, family preparation for festivals, and sharing among multiple people. Glutinous rice has strong water absorption and stickiness. After thorough soaking and steaming, the grains naturally stick together, making it suitable for making foods that require shaping, wrapping, or molding. By adjusting the soaking time, water amount, and cooking method, different textures can be achieved, such as soft and sticky, chewy, or delicate and smooth.
I. Product Features
Naturally Plump Grains
The glutinous rice is screened and cleaned, resulting in relatively uniform grain size and a natural milky white color.
Soft and sticky after steaming
Glutinous rice contains a high proportion of amylopectin, giving it a noticeably sticky and soft texture after steaming, making it suitable for making zongzi (sticky rice dumplings), rice cakes, rice balls, and other glutinous rice desserts.
Suitable for both sweet and savory recipes
Glutinous rice has a mild flavor and can be used to make desserts with red beans, red dates, raisins, and sugary ingredients, or to make savory main dishes with pork, chicken, mushrooms, dried shrimp, and vegetables.
Suitable for festivals and family cooking
This product can be used to make zongzi for the Dragon Boat Festival, eight-treasure rice, glutinous rice balls, and other traditional festival foods. It is also suitable for everyday cooking of glutinous rice, shumai, and rice cakes.
II. Characteristics of Glutinous Rice
After steaming, glutinous rice becomes soft, sticky, and elastic. It retains some stickiness even after cooling, making it commonly used to make foods that can be shaped or filled.
Glutinous rice can absorb meat juices, mushroom broth, the sweetness of red dates, and the aroma of other ingredients. When making savory glutinous rice, you can first sauté the ingredients until fragrant, then steam them together with the glutinous rice. When making desserts, you can pair it with red bean paste, nuts, dried fruit, and coconut milk for a rich flavor and texture.
III. Basic Steamed Glutinous Rice Recipe
Take an appropriate amount of glutinous rice and gently rinse it two to three times with clean water.
Soak it in enough water for about 4 to 6 hours; if you prefer a softer texture, you can extend the soaking time accordingly.
Drain the soaked glutinous rice and spread it evenly in a steamer or a suitable steaming container.
Start steaming after the water boils, and steam for about 30 to 50 minutes, depending on the thickness and amount of glutinous rice.
If the surface becomes too dry during steaming, you can spray a small amount of warm water.
The rice is ready to eat when the grains are fully cooked and the texture is soft and sticky.organic grains, organic whole grains, organic cereal grains, organic grains,Market demand provides different particle sizes and packaging formats, suitable for multigrain porridge, daily staple foods, and mixed grain packaging products.
