The Autoido 1-way MEGA fuse holder is designed for installing a compatible MEGA bolt-down fuse in low-voltage automotive and DC power systems. It provides a secure connection point for overcurrent protection between a power source and heavy-gauge cable.
The holder features M8 threaded studs, locking hardware and a transparent protective cover. Typical applications include auxiliary battery circuits, car audio amplifiers, DC power distribution, inverters, charging systems and other high-current equipment.

The continuous-current capacity of the complete holder assembly must be confirmed through product-specific temperature-rise, voltage-drop and connection tests. Do not select the holder based only on the printed ampere rating of the fuse.
A MEGA fuse is installed between the two threaded studs. One stud connects to the power source and the other connects to the protected circuit.
During normal operation, current passes through the MEGA fuse. When an overcurrent condition exceeds the fuse’s time-current characteristics, the fuse element opens the circuit and helps protect the downstream cable and equipment.
The fuse holder provides the mechanical mounting and electrical connection. Circuit protection depends on selecting the correct fuse, cable, terminals and installation method.

MEGA, MIDI/AMI and ANL fuses are different formats and should not be assumed to be interchangeable. Never select a fuse by appearance or current rating alone.

A 500A MEGA fuse should only be used when the fuse holder, cable, terminals, installation and complete electrical system have been validated for that operating current and fault condition.

Mount the holder securely on a stable surface.
Install correctly sized cable lugs over the M8 studs.
Fit the selected MEGA fuse between the two studs.

Refit the transparent protective cover.
Check polarity, cable routing and connection security before restoring power.
Inspect the holder for abnormal heat or loose connections after initial operation.
Install the fuse holder as close to the power source as permitted by the system design. Use properly crimped cable lugs and protect cables from vibration, sharp edges, heat and moisture.
