and outstanding dispersibility, it enables formulators to develop ink-receptive coatings with fast ink absorption, sharp imaging performance and
even drying effect.
1. Forms Microporous Structure for Rapid Ink Absorption & Drying
QX-200 serves as the main ink-absorbing filler in inkjet coatings, building a compact, evenly distributed microporous network on the substrate surface.
Once ink droplets touch the coating, water-based carrier liquid quickly penetrates into the silica’s nanopores, while color pigments stay fixed on the coating
surface. This delivers bright color reproduction, clear image edges, and premium print quality with no ink bleeding or accumulation.
2. Optimizes Coating Rheology for Stable Production
Apart from ink absorption, QX-200 also works as an effective rheology regulator. It improves the viscosity and thixotropy of coating liquid, avoiding sagging,
over-penetration and pigment sedimentation. It ensures smooth running on coating production lines and stable, consistent coating finish.
3. Excellent Compatibility with Water-Based Formulations
With abundant surface silanol groups, hydrophilic QX-200 can disperse stably and uniformly in water and polar solvent systems. It blends perfectly with
water-based binders like PVA to create homogeneous, transparent inkjet coating formulas.
It is widely applicable for high-gloss inkjet photo paper, PET film inkjet coating, digital labels and flexible packaging materials.
4. Maintains Original Transparency & Surface Texture of Substrates
When formulated properly, QX-200 forms an ultra-fine, transparent microporous coating layer after drying. It barely affects the original gloss, transparency
and soft hand feel of the base material.
