Fiberglass Mesh tape

Application Steps:

Prepare the Wall:
- Start by ensuring that the wall is clean and dry. Remove any loose debris, dust, or old paint from the area around the crack.
Attach fiberglass Mesh :
- Place the mesh tape directly over the crack, ensuring that it spans the entire length of the crack. Press it firmly onto the wall to adhere it in place.
Compression:
- Use a tool or your hand to gently compress the fiberglass mesh tape onto the wall, making sure it adheres well to the surface and the crack.
Cut Off Excess Tape:
- Once the tape is securely in place, use a knife or utility knife to carefully trim off any excess tape. The tape should cover the crack completely.
Apply Plaster or Joint Compound:
- Next, apply a layer of plaster or joint compound over the mesh tape. Spread it evenly and smoothly over the tape, ensuring that it covers the tape and the crack. Use a putty knife or a drywall knife for this step.
Let It Dry:
- Allow the plaster or joint compound to dry naturally. Drying times can vary depending on the product used and environmental conditions. Follow the manufacturer's recommendations.
Polishing:
- Once the plaster is dry, gently sand the repaired area with sandpaper or a sanding block to create a smooth and even finish. Be careful not to sand too aggressively to avoid damaging the repair.
Paint:
- Apply paint to the repaired area to match the surrounding wall. Ensure that the paint is thoroughly blended to achieve a seamless appearance.
Remove Excess fiberglass cloth mesh:
- After the paint has dried, carefully remove any excess mesh tape or tape residue. The repaired area should now blend seamlessly with the rest of the wall.
