ASTM A588 A633 Low Alloy Steel Plate
ASTM A588 is the standard specification for high-strength, low-alloy structural steel with a minimum yield strength of up to 50 ksi and resistance to atmospheric corrosion for applications where strength and durability are required. The required ASTM G101 corrosion resistance index must be ≥ 6.0. Besides typical applications in welded bridges and buildings, this specification is also widely used in passenger cars.
ASTM A633 is the standard specification for normalized high-strength low-alloy structural steel sheets where superior low-temperature toughness is required. Grade C is available in thicknesses up to 4 inches, and Grade E is available in thicknesses up to 6 inches. Typical applications include power poles in slab form, offshore platforms, construction equipment frames, electric excavator bucket handles, and suspension components.
