SKYSIL SS-650L SILICA MATTING AGENT FOR WOOD COATING

SKYSIL SS-650L silica matting agent represents new-developed matting technology -- a type of silicon dioxide which is treated with organic

surface. The main function of this is to provide unrivaled chemical performances. The design of SS-650L silica matting agent combines super

high purity silicon dioxide powder (SiO₂ ≥ 99%) and special Hydrophobic modification.While optimizing matting efficiency, it solves the

compatibility challenges of solvent-based, UV-curable and high-solid content wood coatings.

1. Excellent formulation compatibility: The organic surface treatment gives it an organophilic structure, allowing it to seamlessly integrate into

the resin system while minimizing viscosity build-up and preventing hard settling during storage.

2. Enhanced matting power and clarity: Optimized porosity (1.8-2.0 ml/g) and precise particle size (6.8-7.3 µm) ensure excellent light diffusion,

resulting in consistent low gloss effects. High whiteness (≥95) and neutral pH (6.0-8.0) maintain wood grain clarity without yellowing.

3. Excellent process stability: Low moisture sensitivity (loss on drying ≤5.0%) ensures batch-to-batch consistency. The modified surface

significantly reduces hygroscopicity, extending shelf life and improving performance in humid environments.
