ASTM A335 high temperature steel pipe is a seamless ferritic alloy steel pipe for high temperature service with the following characteristics:

Chemical composition
The chemical composition of different grades is different. Taking the common P5, P9, P11, P22, P91, etc. as examples, the carbon content is generally between 0.05%-0.15%, the manganese content is 0.30%-0.60%, and the phosphorus and sulfur contents are low, respectively controlled below 0.025% and 0.025%. It also contains alloy elements such as chromium, molybdenum, and vanadium. The chromium content is between 1.00%-9.50%, and the molybdenum content is between 0.44%-1.13%. The addition of these alloy elements gives it excellent high temperature performance and corrosion resistance.

Mechanical properties
It has high tensile strength and yield strength. Generally, the minimum tensile strength can reach more than 415MPa, and the minimum yield strength is more than 205MPa. At the same time, it has a certain elongation, can maintain good mechanical properties at high temperature, and meet the use requirements in different high temperature environments.

Manufacturing process
It can be produced by hot rolling or cold drawing. Specific heat treatments such as normalizing, tempering, isothermal annealing, etc. are required during the production process to refine the grains, eliminate stress, and improve the comprehensive performance of the steel pipe, ensuring that the steel pipe has high dimensional accuracy, the outer diameter tolerance can be controlled within a small range, and the pipe wall is uniform, which can effectively reduce the stress concentration problem caused by uneven wall thickness.

Testing standards
Each steel pipe must undergo strict quality inspection, including mechanical property tests such as transverse or longitudinal tensile tests, hardness tests, flattening or bending tests, and chemical composition analysis. Non-destructive testing, such as ultrasonic testing and radiographic testing, is also required to ensure that there are no defects inside the steel pipe and meet the requirements of ASTM A335 standards.

Application fields
Widely used in high-temperature and high-pressure pipelines, reactors, heat exchangers and other equipment in the petrochemical industry; in the power industry, used to manufacture steam pipes, thermal pipes, high-temperature boilers and high-temperature steam generators, etc.; can also be used in high-temperature components or pipeline systems in aerospace, construction, ships, automobiles and other fields
