It is soluble in water, ethanol, and butanol, but insoluble in ether. Easy to deliquescent, the general product is a 60% solution with a relative density of 1.07 (20/20 ℃). Trimethylbenzyl ammonium chloride cas: 56-93-9 is used for the determination of platinum, palladium, mercury, and gold, as an emulsifier and inhibitor. Benzyltrimethylammonium Chloride or BTAC can be used as phase transfer catalyst in many biphasic organic transitions used in the agrochemicals, polymer and pharmaceutical industries.
