In the process of producing aerated concrete blocks, aerated aluminum powder plays an important role. Through a chemical reaction with raw materials such as silicon dioxide and quicklime, the aluminum powder releases gas and causes a porous structure to form inside the concrete. The technical flow of this process is as follows:
1. Add the aerated aluminum powder into the mixing tank and thoroughly mix with the slurry.
2. The stirred aluminum slurry is transported to the weighing scale for accurate measurement.
3. The measured aluminum slurry is put into the pouring mixer together with other raw materials such as lime, gypsum and fly ash.
4. During the mixing process, the aluminum powder reacts with the alkaline substance to release hydrogen and form bubbles, which makes the concrete slurry expand and create a porous lightweight structure.
This unique production process makes the density of aerated concrete blocks much lower than that of traditional materials, and its weight is usually between 500 and 700 kg/m3, which is only 1/4 to 1/5 of the clay brick and 1/5 of the ordinary concrete. Therefore, the structure built using aerated concrete blocks has a weight reduction of more than 40% compared to traditional brick-concrete or concrete structures, which has a significant lightweight advantage.
The main use of aerated aluminum powder for aerated concrete is that during the production process, the aluminum powder reacts with silica and quicklime to release gas, so that the porous structure is formed inside the concrete block produced. In the batting process of aerated concrete block production, aerated concrete is added to the aluminum slurry mixing tank, which is fully stirred and put into the aluminum slurry measuring scale, and finally put into the pouring mixer together with raw materials such as quicklime, gypsum and fly ash. The aluminum powder in the aluminum paste can react with alkaline substances in the aerated concrete slurry to release hydrogen and produce bubbles. The aerated concrete slurry expands to form a porous structure. Thus, the general weight of the produced aerated concrete block is 500-700kg/m3, which is only equivalent to 1/4 to 1/5 of the clay brick and 1/5 of the ordinary concrete, which is a lighter kind of concrete. It is more than 40% lower than the self-weight of ordinary brick concrete structure buildings. In addition, the use of aerated concrete blocks can also have the following effects. 1. Sound insulation effect because of its unique porous structure, the internal structure is like bread, and a large number of closed pores are evenly distributed, so it has a certain sound absorption ability. 10mm thick walls can reach 41 decibels. 2. Strong earthquake resistance Aerated concrete block has light capacity, good overall performance and small earthquake inertia, so it has certain earthquake resistance. 3. Thermal insulation effect Because the aerated concrete block has a large number of pores and microholes inside, it has good thermal insulation performance. The thermal conductivity is 0.11-0.16W/MK, which is 1/4-1/5 of the clay brick. Generally, the thermal insulation effect of 20cm thick aerated concrete wall is equivalent to that of 49cm thick ordinary solid clay brick wall. 4. Anti-permeability effect Because the aerated concrete block is composed of many independent small pores, the water absorption and moisture conductivity are slow, and the time required for water absorption to saturation in the same volume is 5 times that of clay bricks. When used in the bathroom, the wall can be directly pasted with tiles after interface treatment.
