Both designs do not require multiple sets of combinations to achieve bidirectional load-bearing like one-way angular contact ball bearings, which greatly simplifies equipment assembly. The cage is mostly made of brass (suitable for high speed and high temperature) or engineering plastic (low noise). Some high-precision models are equipped with ceramic balls to further reduce friction and increase the speed.
