①Maximum gas displacement rate:
Gas displacement refers to the process of using a vacuum pump to expel air from packaging containers or employing a gas displacement method to replace air within the container. This process removes the original air and fills the container with a carefully proportioned mixture of preservation gases (such as oxygen, carbon dioxide, or nitrogen). The higher the gas displacement rate, the more precisely the mixed gases can be controlled, thereby making it easier to manage both the shelf life and storage duration of food products. Different packaging types require tailored displacement solutions, with the final gas mixture ratio remaining the sole criterion for quality assessment.
② Precise gas mixture ratio:
Taking carbon dioxide (CO2) as an example, it is the most critical gas in modified atmosphere packaging. It inhibits the growth of bacteria and fungi. The accuracy of CO2 concentration directly affects the shelf life of food. Currently, the most precise equipment for mixing different gases in specific ratios achieves a self-made gas mixture accuracy better than ±2%.
③High-barrier packaging materials:
High barrier material is an important part of modified atmosphere packaging, which can ensure the mixed preservation gas inside the package does not leak out and the outside gas does not penetrate.
④ Suitable storage temperature:
The benefits of modified atmosphere (MA) packaging for food preservation are based on maintaining consistent environmental conditions. At low temperatures, carbon dioxide's antibacterial effect is significantly enhanced, while microbial growth slows down and food respiration decreases. The recommended cold storage temperature range is 0-4°C.
⑤ Excellent sealing performance:
A clear and intact sealing pattern is the primary requirement for packaging. Poor sealing (e.g., narrow creases, wrinkles, or bubbles) can cause the preservative gas to escape, significantly reducing the shelf life of food and potentially damaging the product's brand image.
⑥ Consistent gas mixture ratio:
However, when stored at the same temperature but in different gas environments, food quality and shelf life can vary significantly.
