Metal Box Shear (Horizontal Container Shear) is an efficient and integrated continuous shearing equipment in the scrap steel processing industry. Compared with the traditional gantry shear, it adopts a horizontal structure, the biggest feature is that it has its own compression box and does not need a complex civil foundation.
Core working principle: compression and shearing linkage
The operation logic of the box shear is a continuous cycle of "first extrusion, then shear":
-Side pressure compression: After the materials are put into the bin, the side pressure cylinder is pushed horizontally to extrude the loose scrap steel (such as color steel tile, bicycle frame, etc.) into a long strip of compact block.
-Step propulsion: the propulsion cylinder pushes the compacted strip material to the front shear notch in sections.
-Vertical shearing: The vertical shearing cylinder drives the knife edge downward to cut the material into finished products with a set length.
Core technical advantages (compared with gantry scissors)
-Foundation-free installation: The box-type shear usually adopts an integral frame structure, and the ground is only required to be hardened and leveled, so there is no need to excavate a deep foundation pit and install anchor bolts. This is very attractive for renting space or recycling bins that require mobile operations.
-Continuous feeding: the opening of the bin is large, and the steel grabbing machine can continuously throw materials to the rear of the bin during the operation of the equipment, without waiting for the complete completion of the previous cycle.
-High degree of integration: the hydraulic station and electrical cabinet are usually integrated with the main engine, which is convenient for transportation (some models have container-type towing function).
Key mechanical components
-Side pressure system: This is the "characteristic part" of the box shear, which is responsible for reducing the dimension of the bulk waste. It is usually equipped with high manganese steel wear-resistant lining plate.
-Shear blade: alloy steel. The blades of box shears are usually divided into moving and fixed blades, and the downward angle of the moving blade is optimized to reduce the shear resistance.
-Cylinder matrix: including main shear cylinder, side pressure cylinder, push cylinder and pressing cylinder (used to fix the material at the moment of shearing).
Applicable material facts
-Heavy scrap: I-beam, channel steel, heavy reinforcement cage.
-Light and thin: Scrap car shells, metal oil drums, all kinds of civil waste aluminum
-Restriction: Do not shear solid shafts (such as train axles) or hardened materials with a thickness exceeding the design of the knife edge, otherwise the knife seat will be deformed or the knife will be cracked.
Maintenance points
-Blade clearance monitoring: Due to the lateral force generated by the material during the side pressure process, long-term operation may lead to the deviation of the blade clearance. It is recommended to check the bolt tightness every shift.
-Lubrication management: The friction between the side pressure sliding block and the guide rail is severe, so it is necessary to ensure the normal oil supply of the centralized lubrication system, otherwise the phenomenon of "rail burning" will easily occur.
-Dust prevention of hydraulic system: As the operation is in an open environment, there is a lot of metal dust in the air, so it is necessary to replace the air filter regularly to prevent hydraulic oil pollution.
