There are two main hot stamping techniques for the sides of bottle caps: graphic hot foil stamping, which requires creating a copper plate or silicone plate with the graphic and mounting it on a hot stamping plate. Line hot stamping, which typically involves evenly stamping a layer of gold, silver, or other colored foil around the edge of the cap's opening for a decorative effect, requires mounting a flat silicone plate on the hot stamping plate.

Although hot foil stamping lines are merely decorative, they occupy a significant market share on bottle caps. They can also conceal burrs created during injection molding, leading many users to use semi-automatic hot stamping machine, heat transfer machine, or fully automatic hot stamping machine.

This is a fully automatic hot stamping machine with vertical turntable for bottle cap lines. The hot stamping head can be either a cylindrical silicone roller or a flat silicone plate. When using a silicone roller, the roller and bottle cap rotate while in contact.
