The exposure machine is the most important exposure equipment in the screen printing process. It is used to transfer the image from the film to the photosensitive emulsion layer on the screen, creating the difference between the image and non-image areas. The exposure machine mainly consists of a worktable and a UV light source. The UV light from the machine shines on the film and screen placed on the worktable. The black and transparent areas on the film can block or transmit the UV light. The photosensitive emulsion layer exposed to UV light undergoes a chemical reaction and solidifies onto the screen. The photosensitive emulsion layer not exposed to UV light is washed away in subsequent processes.

The quality of the light source and the vacuum level of the exposure machine are the main factors for maintaining high precision.

How to make screen plate for screen printers?

Screen printing machine and automatic screen printing machine all require screens, which are the iconic components of screen printing equipment.

Core technologies of screen plate exposure machine:

Light source technology: The light source is selected as iodine gallium lamp, with a wavelength in the range of 350-450nm, which can match the photosensitivity range of photosensitive materials such as screen plates. There are also ultraviolet LED light sources, which have the advantages of long life, stable light quantity and stable wavelength. The special reflector design can make the light evenly reflected. By arranging the light source reasonably, such as setting iodine gallium lamp tubes side by side at equal intervals, and cooperating with arc support plates, the concentration and uniformity of light can be improved.

Vacuum technology

Select high-performance vacuum pumps, such as oil-free vacuum pumps, which have fast suction and good effect, and can reach high vacuum in a short time. Optimize the sealing of the vacuum system, use high-quality rubber cloth materials, good elasticity, and ensure the vacuum environment inside the exposure machine. Equipped with a vacuum pressure regulating device, the vacuum pressure can be accurately adjusted according to different plates and exposure requirements to ensure that the original plate and the photosensitive plate are closely fitted without damaging the plate.

Exposure control technology

The error of repeated exposure time of the exposure machine with a timer should be less than ±1%. Through the intelligent control system, the exposure time can be accurately set and adjusted according to different screen patterns, photosensitive materials and process requirements. The exposure intensity can be controlled by adjusting the distance between the light source and the screen, such as adjusting the spacing between the exposure assembly and the glass plate through the telescopic electric cylinder. When the screen needs a shorter exposure, increase the spacing to reduce the exposure intensity to lengthen the exposure time; conversely, reduce the spacing to increase the exposure intensity to reduce the exposure time.

Temperature control technology

The exposure machine usually generates a lot of heat. For example, the light source such as iodine gallium lamp generates a lot of heat, so a good heat dissipation device is required, such as setting a cooling fan on the side wall of the frame and opening an air inlet to discharge the hot air in the exposure room.

Optical glass technology

The use of high-transmittance, low-refractive-index high-quality optical glass, such as ultra-white optical glass imported from Germany, can ensure the transmittance of light and the reproducibility of the mesh line, making the plate-making pattern clearer and more accurate.
