Metal Briquetting Press (also known as Metal Chip Briguetting Machine, Hydraulic Briquetting Machine) is the core forming equipment in the field of scrap metal recycling and reuse, which mainly compresses loose metal scraps such as steel scraps, aluminum scraps, copper scraps and iron scraps into high-density briquettes under high pressure, greatly reducing the volume of scraps (compression ratio can reach 10:1 – 15:1) and reducing transportation costs. At the same time, the efficiency and purity of smelting are improved.

Workflow of Metal Briguette Machine:

1. Feed: metal chips are sent into a stock bin through a convey belt, and that chips are pushed into a die cavity by a prepressing device to preliminarily compact air in a chip removal room;

2. Main pressure: The hydraulic system drives the main cylinder to press down, and the pressure head applies high pressure to the chips inside the cavity, and the pressure is maintained for 3-10 seconds to ensure uniform density;

3. Pressure-holding molding: under the continuous action of high pressure, metal bonds are formed between metal chip molecules, and the briquette density can reach 5.0 – 7.0 G/cm ³ (close to the density of raw materials);

4. Demould: that main oil cylinder returns, and the demould ejector rod ejects the formed briquette out of the mould; 5. Discharging: The briquette is sent to the finished product area by the conveyor belt to complete a cycle, and the single cycle time is 20 – 60 seconds (depending on the model).

How to choose a Swarf Briquette Machine:

1. Selection according to the material: hard metal chips (steel, iron) need high pressure model to avoid loose briquette; soft metal chips (aluminum, copper) can choose equal pressure model to reduce energy consumption.

2. Type selection according to output demand: semi-automatic models below 200T are selected for small recycling points; full-automatic models above 500T are selected for large steel mills/waste treatment centers, with assembly line operation.

3. Selection according to site conditions: select vertical model for narrow workshop space (small floor area); select horizontal model for spacious site (convenient for continuous feeding and more convenient for maintenance).

Briquette Extruder debugging core:

1. Accurate calibration of pressure: set the main pressure according to the requirements of material density, and test the density after 3-5 pieces of pressure test. If the pressure is too low, the briquette is fragile, and if it is too high, it will aggravate the wear of the mold;

2. Adjustment of die clearance: use a feeler gauge to detect the clearance between the male die and the female die, and control it at 0.1 – 0.3mm. If the clearance is too large, it will cause too many burrs on the edge of the briquette, and if it is too small, it will be difficult to demould;

3. Pressure holding time setting: When the chip particle size is fine and the oil content is high, properly extend the pressure holding time (5 – 10 seconds) to ensure the discharge of oil and air and improve the compactness of the briquette.
