Screen printing Ink for PVC baloon

The screen printing ink on latex balloons is a highly elastic solvent-based ink. After drying, it can adhere to the surface of the balloon and expand freely as the balloon is inflated. It has excellent flexibility:

Solvent-based elastic ink is based on polyurethane resin, with solvents (such as ethyl acetate) and pigments, and forms an elastic film after drying. The elongation at break can reach 300%-500%, and the ink does not break when the balloon is inflated; the elastic modulus of the ink after film formation is close to that of latex, which prevents the ink from cracking or falling off due to excessive stretching after the balloon is inflated. Balloon ink used outdoors must be resistant to ultraviolet radiation to prevent fading. For children's toys or decorative balloons, the ink must pass heavy metal (lead, cadmium, etc.) and phthalate tests to avoid contact hazards.

Printing process points

Screen selection: Use high-elastic nylon mesh (200-300 mesh), and the screen tension is controlled at 18-25N/cm.
Scraper hardness: Use a polyurethane scraper with a Shore hardness of 50-60, and the pressure should be gradually increased when operating the screen printer.
Pattern design: Avoid large-area solid color printing (the ink may break due to expansion), and use line or dot patterns first, and the ink layer thickness should be controlled at 5-10μm. When printing multi-color balloons, avoid placing different colors too close together. When inflating balloons, try to ensure the size is consistent.
