The sun gear is the input gear of the wheel hub planetary reduction. It is splined to the axle shaft and drives the planetary gears that walk around the fixed internal ring gear. Every torque reversal passes through this gear before reaching the wheel. When it wears — spline fretting, tooth pitting, root cracking — the wheel end whines, knocks under load, and sheds metal into the hub oil. Left unrepaired, teeth break and the reduction locks or fails.
We are Shaanxi Tolizer Machinery Equipment Co., Ltd., a supplier of heavy-duty truck and axle components for Shacman, TONLY, SINOTRUK, LiuGong, and FAW distributors and fleet workshops worldwide.
Our 81351130044 Sun Gear replaces the original Hande component. It is a Z=19 external / Z=40 internal spline, 55 mm high sun gear with 89 mm OD and 49 mm ID. It fits the Hande HDZ300 wheel hub reduction (ip=3.947) on Shacman F3000, X3000, X5000, M3000, plus HOWO, Sitrak, and Kamaz with HDZ300 axles. Alternative part numbers: 81351130044, AZ9981340071, DIF3788.
Choosing this sun gear means choosing a correctly splined, hardened input gear that restores planetary mesh and eliminates wheel-end noise.
Product Detail Image:

Surface Treatment: Forged alloy steel (SAE 4140 / 20CrMnTi), carburized and quenched. External teeth and internal splines finished after heat treatment. Protective coating for storage.
Manufacturing Process: Forged, rough-machined, carburized, quenched. External Z=19 teeth ground. Internal Z=40 spline broached or shaped. Inspected for tooth thickness, spline fit, hardness. Verified for 89 mm OD, 49 mm ID, 55 mm height.
Structure Diagram: Cylindrical gear with 19 external teeth and 40-tooth internal spline bore. 55 mm face width. Splined to axle shaft, retained by circlip or thrust washer.
Installation Position: Installs on the axle shaft inside the wheel hub reduction. Internal spline engages axle shaft. External teeth mesh with planetary gears rotating inside fixed ring gear (81.35111.0019, Z=57). First component in the reduction chain.

Product Principle: Sun gear splined to axle shaft drives planetary gears. Planetary gears mesh with fixed internal ring gear and walk around inside it, driving wheel hub at reduced speed and multiplied torque. Sun gear is first in the chain — its external teeth and internal spline determine how smoothly torque enters the planetary set. Worn teeth or loose spline = rough input, opened mesh, wheel-end whine and knock.
Diagnostic Note: Watch for: Whining from wheel end rising with speed — external teeth pitting or mesh opening. Rhythmic knocking under load — spline fit loosened, sun gear rocking as torque reverses. Often mistaken for U-joint or differential. Metal particles in hub oil — sun gear or planetary teeth wearing; drain and inspect immediately. Pitting, spalling, or tooth breakage on external teeth — hardened layer fatigued; replace before tooth breaks. Spline fretting on internal Z=40 bore — check axle shaft splines for wear. Before replacing, check planetary gears and ring gear — if sun gear worn, they are likely worn too; replace as a set. Also check axle shaft splines for step wear or twisting.
